ONE WINTER’S NIGHT 2019
The fourth One Winter’s Night charity concert took place at Guildford's Yvonne Arnaud Theatre on Saturday 12th January 2019. It was produced by GT Live Sessions and sponsored, for the third time, by KP Snacks Ltd. The sound was directed by Joshua Robins and his team from Robins Audio, and the lighting was designed by the magical John Harris. The event raised £10,000 for the two chosen charities - Samaritans, and The Fountain Centre (a charity for cancer patients, their families and carers located in the St Luke’s cancer unit at the Royal Surrey County Hospital). The raffle was match-funded by Santander UK, and One Winter’s Night 2019 was hosted by Gavin Thomas.

“Guildford's Yvonne Arnaud Theatre opened its doors to a sell-out crowd for the fourth annual One Winter's Night charity concert on the 12th January 2019. The event was organised and hosted by Guildford musician and promoter Gavin Thomas, who this year chose Samaritans, and The Fountain Centre (the cancer care charity that operates at St Luke's Cancer unit at The Royal Surrey Hospital) to benefit from the event’s fundraising.
"It really was an extraordinary evening." Mr Thomas said. "It was a full house at The Arnaud, and there was such an incredible feeling of love and support from the audience that all of our performers raised their game. Everyone played their socks off, and I'm hugely proud of all of them. I think the evening showed off the exceptional talent that we have here in Guildford's live music community, and the standing ovations certainly showed that our amazing audience agreed."
One Winter's Night was once again sponsored by KP Snacks Ltd, and featured performances from Tom Copson, Nora Anna, China Bears, Adam Giles Levy, Slack Maverick, Martin Harley, Telephone Road, Life Like Charlie, and Zach Johnson.
"We raised an incredible £7,000 on the night, which will be split between our two wonderful charities, and with the help of Santander UK who match-funded our raffle, we're hoping to add to this and reach our target of £10,000. I'd like to thank everyone who helped support this annual GT Live Sessions event. It's a very special feeling to be able to promote local live music on such a fantastic stage in our wonderful local theatre and make thousands of pounds for local charities at the same time."
The fundraising from this event now means that the total raised by Gavin Thomas and his One Summer's Day festivals and One Winter's Night concerts over the last four years has reached in excess of £50,000 for local and national charities.
Gavin will be back with 'One Spring Afternoon' (part of the University of Surrey's 'FreeFest') on Saturday 18th May 2019, and GT Live Sessions are hoping to announce a fifth One Winter's Night event for January 2020”.
